Character Name: Albus Severus Potter
Age: 46
Birthday: 27th February 2021
Previous School/House: Hogwarts/Gryffindor
Subject/Position Applying for: Defence Against the Dark Arts
Appearance:
Albus has dark chocolate coloured wavy hair that he wears in a side parting. Often found with a five o clock shadow, he has a near perfect jawline, and an oddly penetrating yet comforting stare to match. It isn't often that he is found wearing anything but a kind smile, especially in his role as professor.
Personality:
Albus is a kind and loving man who rarely has cause to lose his temper, although when he does, he is not a nice man to be on the wrong side of. Although he is proud of where he has come from, he has always strived to be successful in his own right, and enjoyed his career as an Auror before becoming a Hogwarts Professor. He is a very generous and understanding man, with a very open and honest streak. Some would call him honourable, he just sees it as being human.
Character History:
Albus Severus Potter, youngest son of the late Harry Potter, always lived in the shadow of his brother, growing up. Although he was secretly his father's favourite, he never seemed to do as well as James did, with much more of a forgiving manner, and a kindness and compassion not possessed by his older brother. He too, was sorted into Gryffindor during his time at Hogwarts, and took his position as brave and courageous Gryffindor very seriously, often playing the hero the older he got. He did well in his examinations, especially in Defence Against the Dark Arts, to the great delight of his father.
After his graduation, he took a job offered to him in the Auror department, following in both his father's and his brother's footsteps, although he didn't have as much of a desire for promotion as his brother seemed to possess. Albus did his job well, meticulous over the details, and he enjoyed it, although he always felt as though there was something missing. He met his first wife, Emilia Rose Potter née Watson during his time at the Ministry, and they married quickly, going on to have three children together. Chase, in 2046, followed by a daughter two years later, and another daughter three years after that.
Emilia unfortunately passed away after contracting a medical problem in 2061. Albus mourned for her for a long time, and it also affected the children quite strongly. He took a lot of time off of work, and when he returned, found that he didn't love it as much as he once did. Albus quit his job and spent a bit of time not doing anything before he was asked to take the role of Defence Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts. He thought about it for a while, and then accepted, thinking that it was the one thing that he was ever really good at, and being happy about the prospect of returning to the place that he had once loved, and also about being closer to his children.
He started work as a professor in 2063, proceeding to meet Willow in a muggle art gallery in 2064. They fell in love easily, despite the sixteen year age difference between them.

Albus sat in his empty classroom, a faint smile on his face. He had just had a double period with the seventh years, and they were really starting to come along. There had been the usual troublemakers, of course, his own nephew included, but he had learned to expect it. It no longer meant that no work was done, only that it was done at a slower pace, and in more of a social way. In fact, sometimes he thought it made him a better teacher, because every time he led a class, he learned something knew about the way that his students learned, and that made him smile, because it meant that at least he was doing one aspect of his job right.
There were so many things these days that put a smile on his face, his family, his work, the list was seemingly endless, and he was enjoying it, after so much hardship and pressure to compete. Albus stood up and picked up the stack of papers on his desk. The fourth years were going to hate him for giving them a quiz a few days before easter break, but he needed to know where they were at, and he wanted to have time to mark them without taking too much time away from his family. He placed one on each desk, he had already named them, to prevent those he knew liked to have a discussion about boys in the middle of his class from doing so.
Smiling inanely to himself, he sat back down at his desk and waited for the bell to ring and for his students to arrive.
